The nation has steadily progressed in developing its national standards known as Piawai Brunei Darussalam. Standards are the invisible foundations of trust, quality, and safety that underpin Brunei Darussalam's aspirations under Wawasan Brunei 2035 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This was emphasized during the Opening Ceremony of the World Standards Day.  It was held at the Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

It was officiated by Doctor Dayang Hajah May Fa'ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, Permanent Secretary for Economy, Trade and Industry at the Ministry of Finance and Economy.  The ceremony ran concurrently with the launch of the new Majlis Standard dan Akreditasi Brunei Darussalam, MSABD and Pusat Standard dan Akreditasi Brunei Darussalam, PSABD logos. The event also featured a seminar, featuring speakers from Pusat Standard dan Akreditasi Brunei Darussalam, Jabatan Standard Malaysia, the Safety, Health and Environment National Authority, SHENA, and the Brunei Darussalam Food Authority.
